New Fraud Prevention Tools Help Merchants

American Express has a new Card Not Present fraud prevention tool. Participating ecommerce merchants can validate additional cardholder data, improving the chances to reduce chargebacks and fraud.

Card-not-present merchants (MOTO and E-Commerce merchants) must take precaution against fraud. In card not present (no cardholder signature) situations, MasterCard and Visa normally assign chargeback liability to the merchant in the event of fraud.
